Itinerary

DAY 1: ARRIVAL IN LHASA.
Arrival at Lhasa airport, transfer to hotel. Free day. Overnight at hotel.

DAY 2: LHASA.
Breakfast. We will visit the Potala Palace, which is the winter palace of the Dalai Lama. It was put into use since the 7th century by the 33rd great king of Tibet. The most valuable collections of the Potala Palace are the golden burial stupas of the former Dalai Lamas and the Meditation Cave of the 33rd great king of Tibet. Then, we continue to visit the Jokhang Temple which was founded by the 33rd great king of Tibet in the 7th century. Inside we can see the statue of Sakyamuni Buddha at the age of 12. Outside, we can visit the pilgrims prostrating in front of the Jokhang Temple. We will explore the Barkhor Street and the old market. Overnight.

DAY 3: LHASA.
Breakfast. We will visit Drepung Monastery, one of the "three great" Gelug monasteries of Tibet, founded in 1416 by Jamyang Choge, one of the main disciples of Tsongkhapa. We can visit the monastery's largest kitchen inside the monastery and enjoy the Buddhist sculpture workshop near Drepung. In the afternoon, we will visit Sera Monastery, which is another of the "big three" Gelug monasteries in Tibet. The big attraction is the Monks' debate around 3 to 5 pm. In addition, we will visit the Tibetan religious scripture printing press inside the monastery. Overnight.

DAY 4: LHASA/GYANTSE.
Breakfast. Departure by road to Gyangtse (Yamdrok Lake). It is a freshwater lake in Tibet, is one of the three largest sacred lakes in Tibet. It is more than 72 km long. The lake is surrounded by many snow-capped mountains and is fed by numerous small streams. And we will pass the Tibetan lifeline of the Brahma Putra River. Overnight.

DAY 5: GYANTSE/XIGATSE.
We will visit Kumbum Stupa and Phalkhor Monastery, Palcho Gompa surrounded by high walls, the largest chorten in all of Tibet. Then departure by road to Xigatse. Overnight in Xigatse.

DAY 6: XIGATSE/TINGRI.
Breakfast. We will visit the monastery of Tashilumpo. It is the seat of Panchen Lama, the second highest incarnation of Buddha in Tibet, the largest statue of the future Buddha in the world, is called Buddha Jampa and Buddha Maitreya in Sanskrit. On time departure by road to Tingri. Overnight stay.

DAY 7: TINGRI/KERUNG.
Breakfast. Departure by road to Kerung. On the way, we will enjoy the impressive view of Mount Everest. Overnight.

DAY 8: KERUNG/KATHMANDU.
Breakfast. Departure by road to Nepal border, where our representative will pick you up for transfer to Kathmandu.
