Trek 4-5 days into the jungle to "Teyuna" and discover the history of the Sierra Nevada.
It is the archaeological territory of an ancient Tayrona city located in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, whose foundation is attributed to 800 AD, many years before Machu Picchu.
The Tayrona paradise is made up of a series of terraces carved into the mountainside, formed by a network of tiled paths and small circular plazas. Access to Ciudad Perdida is by ascending some 1200 stone steps through the vast jungle of the region.
If you like adventure and you feel in optimal physical conditions to hike up to 6 hours a day, you will enjoy to the maximum what this adventure has for you.

Itinerary
Sierra Nevada
Santa Marta - La Aguacatatera - Mamey - Camp 1
- Departure from Santa Marta at 7:30 a.m. (approx), 1 hour drive in a 4×4 vehicle to the Ecosierra office (La Aguacatatera).
- Final destination by vehicle: El Mamey at 11:30 a.m. (1 hour approx).
- Lunch in the village.
- Hike for four hours to the first camp.
- Overnight in hammocks or beds, according to availability.
- Dinner at the camp.
Camp 1 - Mutanyi - Camp 3
- Departure from camp 1 around 6:00 a.m.
- Hike for 2:30 hours to Mutanyi indigenous village.
- Walk for one hour to camp 2. Lunch.
- Hike for four hours to Paradise (camp 3).
- Overnight in hammocks or beds, according to availability.
- Dinner at the camp.
Camp 3 - Ciudad Perdida - Camp 2
- Departure from camp 3 around 6:00 am.
- Walk uphill for one hour to Ciudad Perdida.
- 4 hours tour to see the archaeological, ethnological and historical zone.
- Return to camp 3 there lunch.
- 4 hours trekking to camp 2.
- Night in hammocks or beds, according to availability.
- Dinner at the camp.
Camp 2 - Mamey - Santa Marta
- Departure at 6:30 am from camp 2.
- Hike for 7 or 8 hours to return to Mamey.
- Lunch.
- Departure by 4×4 vehicle for 3 hours to Santa Marta.
